February 2008: New Bead Release and Price Increase |
Due to the continued weakening of the US dollar, and the resulting higher silver and gold prices, Lund Trading has been forced to increase wholesale prices of Trollbeads. We have maintained prices for nearly two years and this is our first price increase since March 2006. On February 15, 2008 new Trollbeads products were introduced and a number of existing Trollbeads were retired. New and updated information is available on www.lundtrading.com regarding pricing, and new and retired beads. Please be sure to use the latest order forms when placing re-orders. Pricing information must be updated as soon as possible in your store and/or on your website. The deadline for all pricing updates is March 1, 2008. Per your Terms and Conditions, retailers may only sell our products at or above suggested retail prices. A new order form will be included with your next re-order. One set of sticker sheets are available upon request. Sincerely, Staff at Lund Trading |

March 2006: Tibetan refugees learn how to make jewelry |
Recently Lise Aagaard Copenhagen began a Self Sustainable Business Project in cooperation with the Danish organization Tibet Charity. The idea for the project is to teach the unemployed Tibetan refugees to catch fish as opposed to give them fish. Lise Aagaard is not only engaged in providing ordinary aid. In May she traveled to Dharamsala and taught the refugees how to make glass beads. Initially she will buy all the beads they produce. Later, however, she will teach the group how to run their own business from design to market. Until then, Lise Aagaard will provide salaries and housing to the Tibetans who, according to their modest culture, share the income with their families and the members of their community who are unemployed. It is an interesting experience to set up a workshop in a culture so different. I have always greatly enjoyed my trade. This is such a fantastic opportunity because I can actually use my skills to help others. Lise explains how she chose to contact Tibet Charity. The manager of the project was appointed by his holiness the Dalai Lama. Lise Aagaard got the idea about a year ago. In May, she traveled to Dharamsala where she taught bead making to a dozen men and women as well as their manager. The Tibet Beads, as the project is called, will have a couple of months to produce as many beads as they can before the are shipped to Copenhagen Denmark, where Lise Aagaard will use them in her new collection. These Tibet Beads will reflect the Tibetans own preferences for color, shape and form. |
